I am not a very sentimental person.  I don’t keep ticket stubs from concerts or movies, I rarely remember to take pictures when I travel or when I’m with friends, and my Facebook “Memories” are usually just little snippets about how much I either loved or hated the weather at any given time.  This is why I was shocked when I was packing for a move and discovered my ZBT bid card safely stowed away in the clear pocket at the front of a binder. Curious, I opened

"I am still experiencing the good and the difficult times as an alumnus, which just further proves that ZBT is truly a Brotherhood for a Lifetime."

the binder and found all sorts of materials from my time as a Nu Chapter undergrad.  This cheap combination of plastic, metal, and paper reminded me of my 3.5 years involved with my chapter.  I remembered the excitement of receiving my bid and seizing the opportunity to help a great group of guys take the colony they started and build it into a true Powerhouse of Excellence.  I remembered the Big/Little Ceremony when my Big Brother walked over and shook my hand.  I remembered compiling all the information I possibly could about ZBT and our specific chapter when I was BDD so I could share what I learned with everyone.  I also remembered how tired and frustrated I got with the chapter when I was unhappy with how the brothers were acting or when I had to sit through a 4-5 hour meeting.

I joined ZBT because I believe in the values of our fraternity.  I persevered through the difficult times because I believed I would look back and remember the good parts fondly and laugh about the bad.  I joined staff because I want to help my brothers embrace all parts of their experience and discover what being a Zeeb means to them.  I am still experiencing the good and the difficult times as an alumnus, which just further proves that ZBT is truly a Brotherhood for a Lifetime.
